It’s taken a long time to get here but finally things are moving. The contractor went on site on Monday 5th September 2016 and the change is amazing. Tons of material has been dug up. The widening of Monk’s Road will amount to about a metre, with a large visiblity display/embankment as requested by the Council . Curb stones on the chapel side of the road are being installed. There will be a small pavement on the uphill portion of the road, near the top gate, to facilitate pedestrians crossing.
Thank you to our neighbours for their patience. The contractors needed to close the road for Health and Safety reasons. Once it’s completed we’ll have a fifty-space car park, which will be a real boon to us as a church. At the moment we only have limited space for cars and that curtails what we can do because it’s a long way up that hill!
On Sat 26th of November 2016 we have the opportunity to officially welcome Jim Solomon and his family to the role of Lead Elder. We’re so pleased as a church to have such a lovely family joining us.
Charlesworth and Chisworth are having a Carnival on Saturday 9th July. The day after (10th) we are hosting the Rose Queens at a Carnival Service at Top Chapel. We meet at 10 am at St.John’s Church gates (in the village) and then walk or drive up to Top Chapel having had a Well Blessing on the way.
We’re entering a float, so come and see the procession on the 9th or meet us later on the Rec on Marple Road. You can’t miss it. If you ever wanted to see Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker play tennis then this is your chance!!!
There’s a great game for the kids, too, on our stall.
Come and say Hello.
